The Autism Association of
Western Australia is proud to announce that we are bringing one of
the world's leading experts on Autism, Professor Gary Mesibov, to
Australia to deliver a two day MASTERCLASS on the TEACCH approach to
educating and supporting individuals with an Autism Spectrum
Disorder.
Professor Mesibov is Director of
Division TEACCH in the United States, an internationally acclaimed
program dedicated to education and research in the field of Autism.
Division TEACCH provides extensive training programs in the United
States and internationally to teachers, schools, and to the
disability sector. Professor Mesibov also serves as Professor of
Psychology, Department of Psychiatry, and Clinical Professor,
Department of Psychology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel
Hill.
Professor Mesibov is an outstanding
academic who has spent a large part of his professional career
translating the knowledge gained from research in Autism into
everyday practice to assist teachers, therapists, clinicians parents
and family members. Professor Mesibov has written widely in the
field of Autism and he is currently editor of the international
Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders. He is also on
the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Clinical Child
Psychology and the Journal of Paediatric Psychology.
