Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centre
The Autism Association of Western Australia in partnership with Jellybeans Child Care Centres is now providing a service to parents and carers seeking long day care for children with ASD aged 0 to 6 years.
The Autism Association WA Jellybeans Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centre is open now and accepting enrolments.
The Autism Association WA Jellybeans Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centre is located within the:

Jellybeans Child Care Warwick
121 Ellersdale Avenue
Warwick WA 6024
Opening hours are 6.30am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday.
(Morning Sessions: 6.30 to 12.00 / Afternoon Sessions: 12.30 to 6.00)
The centre is an approved long day care centre with the capacity to deliver a minimum of 20 approved child care places for children aged zero to 6 years with ASDs.
Parents can access day care with the reassurance that their child will be provided with individual support and intervention strategies to develop their capacity to participate in child care provided by trained professionals and child care personnel.
Parents are encouraged to consider half day or full day options as best suits their needs.
This exciting initiative provides an early learning program that aims to specifically support the learning and development needs of young children with ASDs and their families. This program also supports their participation in child care and early childhood education and their transition to further educational or therapeutic settings.
The establishment of six Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centres is part of the broader Australian Government commitment to establish Early Learning and Care Centres across Australia.
The initiative is being jointly implemented by the Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) and the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA). FaHCSIA is responsible for the implementation of the six Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centres which are an additional commitment to the Australian Government’s $190 million Helping Children with Autism package.
The centres are located in:
- Perth
- South Western Sydney
- Brisbane
- Adelaide
- North West Tasmania
- Melbourne
The Centre is affiliated with Curtin University of Technology with links to early childhood or ASD related research or services. Through this affiliation with Curtin University of Technology the centre will have a research and workforce training component through student placements in the allied health area which will contribute to achieving a better understanding of ASDs and increase workforce capacity.
Service delivery models for the Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centre will be based on the Early Intervention Best Practice Guidelines published by Prior and Roberts (2006) and current evidence of best practice in child care and early childhood education for children with special needs.

The project is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) and the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA).
