Autism and Immunisation

This booklet has been written especially for parents of children with autism to allay any guilt they may feel if they believe they contributed to their child’s autism by choosing to vaccinate. It is hoped that this booklet will inform and guide parents in the choices they make in vaccinating their children.

Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centres

The Autism Association Jellybeans Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centre opened on February 1, 2010 at 121 Ellersdale Avenue, Warwick.

The Autism Association will participate in joint research with the Commonwealth Government through the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) across all six national Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centres.

  • build understanding of strategies to improve access by children with ASDs to early childhood education programs; and to
  • provide opportunities for collaboration to facilitate research and interventions for children with ASDs and the development of best practice.

During the project the Association will also collaborate with the Curtin University of Technology to conduct ongoing research and undergraduate student placements at the centre.
