Alternatives to Employment Community Options Program
Community Options Program is provided to people diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder who are funded through the Disability Services Commission for a Alternative to Employment and/or Post School Options Program. This program includes a balance of skill development and enjoyable activities and is responsive to the individuals unique needs/interests.
All services are underpinned by a comprehensive understanding of the support needs of individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder; and this knowledge shapes both the design and the implementation of our programs.
Range of Services Provided
The Community Options Program is flexible and tailored to meet the individual needs of the participants. A range of activities are based on Community access, recreation, independent living skills, transport training and pre-employment/work skills and social skill development. Currently skills building activities include but are not limited to: cooking, supervised gym circuits, gymnastics, independent living skills, swimming coaching, social groups, sports (indoor and outdoor), volunteering, work experience, community access activities and creative arts.
The level of support provided is determined on individual need. One to one support is available, as is small group options.
