Family and Professional Services
The Family and Professional Services Team assists people with autism and their families through:
- Education and information about autism
, its impact on behaviour and behaviour support strategies for home and community settings; - Support for the person with autism and their family;
- Advice regarding community participation and inclusion;
- Consultancy to agencies supporting people with autism;
- Assistance with communication strategies;
- Seminars and workshops;
- Support groups;
- The development of resource materials including newsletters and other publications; and
- Information and referral to relevant health and other professional services where appropriate.
Assistance can be provided to families living in regional areas assistance through video conferencing, telephone or email consultancy.
