Privacy Statement

The Autism Association of Western Australia respects the privacy of all information it holds in relation to people who use our services, our members, donors, and others, by complying with the National Privacy Principles of the Privacy Act (1988) and the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.

Where we collect information, we do so for the primary purpose of providing services to people with Autism and their families, or for related activities of the Autism Association. We may also use information for a secondary purpose where it is directly related to the primary purpose for which it was collected and where the person would reasonably expect the Autism Association to do so (for example, your details may be used to send you information on other services you may find helpful unless you instruct us otherwise).

All personal details of individuals are maintained in a secure manner. Information is only disclosed to other organisations or individuals with your prior consent unless the disclosure is required by or under law. However it should be noted that the Autism Association is required to release information about service users to Commonwealth or State disability funding bodies and to enable statistics about disability services to be compiled. This information is used for statistical purposes only and will not be used to affect your entitlements or your access to services.

For further information, regarding the Autism Association’s Privacy Policy, or how to access your personal details, please contact the Operations Manager or applicable Service Manager on 9489 8900.
