Support for your Family
Our flexible service supports people with Autism to achieve outcomes in a range of areas, including:
- recreation and leisure
- developing personal independence and confidence
- Developing independence in self care
- developing community networks and enhanced community participation
- developing social skills and making friends.
How does it work?
The service aims to provide support to families in accordance with their own identified needs and priorities.
Families may choose to have someone support them in their own home and provide help with light household duties, meal preparation and child care. While other families may prefer to have a support worker accompany their son or daughter to activities or even on holiday, providing opportunity to make local connections and enhance natural community networks.
It’s completely up to you and is designed to suit the best interests of your child and your family.
Coordinators will work closely with the person with Autism and their family members to construct a support plan that best meets their needs. This plan, is dynamic and flexible, changing according to the needs of the families.
