KEY AIMS Following this one-day seminar you will:
FURTHER INFORMATION Participants will be assisted to make the connection between theory and practice to enhance their ability to work with children with Autism. This seminar promotes self-reflection and consideration of one’s own communication style and behaviours while working with children with Autism. The seminar will be presented using a combination of direct instruction, small group work and video presentation. FREE WEBINARS FOR FAMILIES IN REGIONAL WESTERN AUSTRALIA Living in a regional area does not mean you are isolated from the services that the Autism Association of Western Australia has to offer. Once a month our qualified clinicians will run hour long webinars covering a variety of topics related to raising your child with Autism. HOW DOES IT WORK? The term webinar is short for Web-based Seminar, a presentation that is transmitted over the Web. Presenters speak over a telephone line, while pointing out information being presented on the computer screen. Families can watch the webinar from their own computer over the internet* and use their telephone to listen to the presenter at the same time. Webinars may involve time for Q&A and resources available to download and use at home. FURTHER INFORMATION Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions during the webinar, but please note there is only a small amount of time allocated to answering questions. Contact details of the presenter will be provided at the end of the webinar if you require further information. In some instances, participants may be emailed information prior to the day to download and read in preparation for the webinar. A copy of the webinar will be sent to you once the webinar has been completed, along with any links to information from the presenter. INTENDED PARTICIPANTS: Families of children with a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder, living in a regional area of Western Australia. (Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Mid-West, Goldfields-Esperance, Great Southern, Wheatbelt or South West).
