ASD and Me – Explaining Autism to your Child | Shenton Park | 14/05/2019

May 14 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

| $75.00 - $100

There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ time to discuss your child’s diagnosis with them. Your family situation and your child’s personality, abilities and social awareness may all impact on when and how to begin to explain your child’s diagnosis to them.

Questions that we explore include: “Why tell my child about their diagnosis?”, “When to tell?”, “What to tell?”, “What words to use?”, and “Who tells?”

Several resources will also be introduced that can assist and guide you, and provide an opportunity for families to share their stories of disclosure.

Recommended for parents and carers of children aged 0 to 18 years.
