Chatterbox Clinic | 02/10/19

October 2

Are you using AAC?

Does your child use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) like a communication device or a communication book? Would you like to learn more about using it? The Autism Association of Western Australia is offering the Chatterbox Clinic to help you learn more about using AAC with your child.

What is the Chatterbox Clinic?

The Chatterbox clinic is for children who already have an AAC device or communication book and includes a fun and personalised coaching session to help with using AAC.

We ask you to come along with your child to join in the coaching session. You are also welcome to bring in any family members or staff that work with your child to learn about their AAC. Bring along their AAC device or communication book so we can support with their personal AAC.

In the coaching session we will offer:

  • Hands on coaching in fun and motivating activities to practise using the device/book
  • Support for programming and operating the device/book
  • Trouble shooting and problem solving
  • Personalised Action Plan and Resources for you to take home
