What do we do when a child has difficulty displaying positive behaviours? Just like any other skill, behaving positively is something that we learn.
In this presentation we look at PBS – or Positive Behaviour Support- an evidence-based approach to building positive behaviours. This approach challenges traditional theories of behaviour support which often involve negative reinforcement, and focuses on teaching children the skills they need to behave in a way that is expected and praising and rewarding progressions towards the behavioural goal. Key elements of PBS include adapting environments, building skills and increasing quality of life for the person with Autism.
If you are currently a client of The Autism Association of WA and have a key therapist, payment will be directly deducted from your child’s funding package. For further information please discuss with your key therapist.
For other families, we have kept costs to a minimum which is $50 per person or $75 for a couple.
If your child is currently on our waiting list for services and is not currently accessing any services with another therapy provider then you may be able to access this training at no cost – please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
