Please note that this workshop has been cancelled due to low levels of interest. We’d like to encourage families to consider registering for our workshop on the 15/09/2018 instead – Building Positive Behaviour. Kindly email email@example.com,au should you have any queries in this regard.
What do we do when a child has difficulty displaying positive behaviours? Just like any other skill, behaving positively is something that we learn.
In this presentation we look at PBS – or Positive Behaviour Support- an evidence-based approach to building positive behaviours. This approach challenges traditional theories of behaviour support which often involve negative reinforcement, and focuses on teaching children the skills they need to behave in a way that is expected and praising and rewarding progressions towards the behavioural goal. Key elements of PBS include adapting environments, building skills and increasing quality of life for the person with Autism.
If you are currently a client of The Autism Association of WA, this training is complimentary and you may attend at no cost.
For all other families, we have kept costs to a minimum which is $50 per person or $75 for a couple.
