In addition to the sessions below, we are taking expressions of interest for a selection of 3 hour Early Days workshops. Early Days workshops are run for families of children 0-6 years old diagnosed with Autism, or who may be going through the diagnostic process. These topics include:

  • Helping My Child Cope with Change
  • Encouraging Interaction Through Play & Social Learning
  • Developing My Child’s Independence
  • Progression to School

The Early Days Understanding Behaviour workshop focuses on helping parents and carers (unpaid) manage difficult behaviour in children aged 0 to 6 years with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Families of children with an ASD often report high levels of stress and difficult behaviour can be one reason for this. Difficult behaviour can also interfere with the child’s development and learning. This workshop will cover the following topics: Understanding your child’s behaviour. Teaching your child a new, more functional behaviour. Developing techniques to promote positive behaviour.

Getting to know the NDIS – Workshop | Webinar | 14/08/2019

Intended Participants: Individuals with Disabilities, Community Organisations, Childcare, Support Workers, Carers & Families. This information session is for people of all ages and all disabilities.

The Autism Association of Western Australia are holding a series of information sessions where you can learn about the NDIS in WA. The information sessions will cover how to access the NDIS and information on planning and implementing an NDIS plan for individuals with Autism.
• The information session will last for 1.5 hours, followed by a 30 minute Q&A
