Autism Association of WA – Subiaco, 37 Hay St
Subiaco, WA Australia

This training is recommended for parents and carers of children with Autism aged 0 to 18 years

To change behaviour, we need to understand why it is occurring. Challenging behaviour happens, not because the person who has Autism is trying to be ‘difficult’ but, because they are responding to a situation in the only way they know how.

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an approach that helps us move closer to understanding the cause of the behaviour and what the person is getting out of it so that we can support them to more effectively meet their needs.

Shenton Park, WA 6008 Australia

This training is recommended for parents and carers of children with Autism aged 0 to 18 years

Food is an essential part of living and socialising; it forms the building blocks of the human body and it helps us to form meaningful connections through the enjoyment of a shared meal. For children with Autism having diet variety for adequate nutrition can be a real challenge and taking part in mealtime experiences with others may be little to none. Come and join our *TASTEE team to learn about both the “why” behind mealtime challenges for children with Autism and what you can start to do about them.
