Adam Gilchrist Celebrates Champions of Cricket!

IMG_7029

Adam Gilchrist’s new book Champions of Cricket celebrates some of the greatest players the game has ever seen and their roles as leaders to today’s youth and young cricketers. These characteristics are especially important to the Autism in Cricket Team and Bateman ICL players who are passionate about breaking down barriers to participation and inclusion in sport, which is why we were stoked to celebrate the book launch with Gilly, at the Bateman Junior Cricket Club.

The celebrations even included a live broadcast on Channel 10 news sports segment, coverage on Channel 7 news AND a feature on Fox Sports where Gilly talked about the book, as well as being an ambassador for the Autism in Cricket Program. This was a huge and exciting moment for Bateman Junior Cricket Club, who were winners of the WA Community Cricket Inclusion and Diversity Award for 2020-21, to host this launch and showcase their club and Integrated Cricket League (ICL) teams!

To end the session, these gunning young players didn’t miss the opportunity to pick up some skills from the attacking left-handed batsman and record-breaking wicket-keeper! As a true team player, Gilly ran through drills with Bateman ICL players, teaching them tips and tricks we’re sure we’ll see used in the upcoming 2021-22 season!

And who would say no to a signed memento by the legend himself to remember this one-of-a-kind session!

Champions of Cricket is the perfect gift for young cricketers everywhere, so head out and get your copy anywhere good books are sold. Stay tuned for our upcoming giveaway of signed copies – just in time for Christmas!
