Ivy’s Playgroup Experience

Ivy’sStory (1)

Ivy joined our First Steps Playgroup, which is a play-based learning session to connect families with each other and provide opportunities for them to talk to our experienced Therapists. Although Ivy is now on to her next adventure, her Mum Sian shared some lovely words about their family’s experience with us and the impact it has had to help Ivy reach her goals. Take a read below!

“My husband and I would like to say a huge thank you for everything Stacey, Maria and Anya have done for Ivy and all the other kids.

You have helped our sweet girl to open up and your advice, care and guidance has truly made a huge impact on Ivy’s life.

At the beginning of our journey everything was very overwhelming but every Wednesday we looked forward to visiting playgroup and seeing our friends there.

We will never be able to thank you all enough, it was truly a pleasure spending this past year with you all.”

Through our First Steps Playgroup Program, our vision is to support all children with Autism to have a great start in life and build the foundations for the beginning of their education. The groups meet at no cost, and your child does not need to have a diagnosis to come along. Our aim is to provide the opportunity for parents and carers to talk to our experienced therapists and find new information to help their child learn through play and build communication skills.

If you’re interested in joining us, contact firststepsplaygroups@autism.org.au, we’d love for you to come along!
