Samantha Conquers Her Fears After Royal Show Visit

“If I was scared? I was a bit, but I did it.” – Samantha
When Samantha attended the Royal Show last year, she conquered more than her fear of holding snakes.
Over the last three years, Samantha has been working towards trying new things and meeting new people, which she finds challenging.
As someone who loves getting out and about, Samantha enjoys visiting museums, joining group classes at her local gym, cooking, and walking around Perth’s parks. She also loves arts and crafts and has been practicing her painting skills, with support worker, Anna, by her side.
After attending the Royal Show last year, Samantha enjoyed her day so much she decided she wants to return this year. More importantly, she also attended our end of year BBQ at Kings Park, where she got to meet new people and play board games with the group.
When asked about the Royal Show, Samantha said: “Yes, I am looking forward to going this year again. I just hope that this year will not be too hot.”
About facing her fears of holding a snake, she added: “If I was scared? I was a bit, but I did it.”
Samantha’s positive attitude has seen her overcome her barriers, much to the delight of Vicky, one of her support workers.
She said: “Before the Royal Show, Samantha would hesitate to engage in new activities with her peers. Now she has achieved one of her goals and I am happy to be able to support her to continue in trying new things.”
