Are short breaks available for children with Autism?
Weekend and school holiday breaks available for children and adolescents with Autism aged 6 to 18 years.
We provide a home away from home where your 6 to 18 year old child can do the things they like to do.
While you have a break, your child has the opportunity to explore friendships and build confidence and independence away from home.
Children are carefully matched based on age, gender and support needs to ensure each child enjoys their stay. Where possible your child is grouped with the same children each time. This provides an additional opportunity for children to form friendships and informal links with people outside their family and school.
Our four Short Breaks homes provide a base so the children can have a fun time in an environment that is comfortable and predictable with lots of choice for each child. 48 hour weekend or school holiday stays are booked in advance allowing you to make plans in the knowledge that your child is happy and well cared for.
Our caring and experienced staff members have been trained specifically around the needs of children with autism. The children receive individual attention with enjoyable activities planned on the basis of their own interests, likes and dislikes. Each respite experience is intended to create positive associations and maximize the likelihood your child will want to return.
